Introduction to the Production Process of Granite Testing Platforms
The key processes for manufacturing granite testing platforms include: sawing processing, mirror polishing, cutting processing, chiseling processing, auxiliary processing, and inspection & repair.
(1) Sawing Processing
This process uses stone sawing machines to cut granite raw materials into rough slabs of the required thickness (typically 20mm or 10mm), or semi-finished products in shapes like strips and blocks. It belongs to the rough machining stage. Common equipment for sawing includes specialized frame-type diamond large saws for granite testing, single-blade bidirectional edge cutting machines, large-diameter disc saws, etc. Traditional pendulum sand saws have been gradually phased out due to low efficiency and poor sawing quality.
(2) Mirror Polishing Process
The goal is to further process the sawn rough slabs to meet the requirements for thickness, flatness, and gloss. This process is completed in multiple steps: first, rough grinding for leveling, followed by semi-fine grinding, fine grinding, precision grinding, and polishing. It is a complex operation in granite testing processing. Only through grinding and polishing can the inherent color, pattern, and luster of decorative materials be fully revealed to achieve decorative effects. Common equipment for mirror polishing includes ten-head automatic continuous grinding and polishing machines for granite testing, bridge grinders, hand-held grinders, small disc grinders, large disc grinders, reverse rough grinders, etc. The abrasives and grinding tools used in grinders gradually decrease in particle size as the polishing precision improves, with common abrasives including corundum, silicon carbide, synthetic diamond, and cubic boron nitride.
(3) Cutting Process
This process uses edge cutting machines to shape and cut rough slabs or polished slabs into specified lengths and widths as per order requirements, resulting in boards of the desired specifications. Common equipment for cutting includes longitudinal multi-blade edge cutters, double-blade edge cutters, transverse edge cutters, bridge edge cutters, cantilever edge cutters, hand-cranked edge cutters, etc.
(4) Auxiliary Processing
In addition to the key processes above, granite testing processing often requires edge grinding, chamfering, hole drilling, eyelet punching, and edge milling according to specific decoration needs. Common equipment includes automatic edge grinding and chamfering machines, special stone profiling milling machines, thin-walled drilling machines, hand-held diamond circular saws, hand-held grinding and polishing machines, etc.
(5) Inspection & Repair Process
Granite testing boards may inevitably have cracks, holes, or defects like fractures, scratches, and edge damage generated during production. Through cleaning and inspection, qualified boards can be stored in warehouses. Slightly defective boards can be bonded and repaired to reduce waste rates. This process is typically manual, though some imported production lines use automatic continuous repair machines, requiring the repaired areas to match the original material in color and luster. Common tools include automatic continuous repair machines, blow-drying machines, or manual inspection and repair.
(6) Chiseling Processing
This is an ancient stone processing method, characterized by simplicity, flexibility, and convenience. It is suitable for external processing to obtain boards of the required specifications.
