Why is marble/granite platform polished?
The practical significance of marble/granite polishing:
- After polishing, the brightness of marble/granite can reach 90-100 degrees, which restores the value of the stone by improving its (as-manufactured) brightness. Crystal surface treatment saves time, labor, and costs while enhancing wear resistance. In contrast, wax polishing on marble/granite reduces surface brightness, causes blurring, diminishes the stone's functional value, and undermines its aesthetic appeal.
- From the above differences in nature and appearance, it can be seen that marble/granite wax polishing has been phased out of the market. The principles and methods of marble/granite polishing and crystal surface care can endow marble/granite with decorative properties and extend its service life.
Differences between polished marble/granite platforms and wax-polished marble/granite platforms:
(1) Polishing with marble/granite grinding blocks serves as a prelude to stone crystal surface treatment. Polished stone care features high gloss, clear clarity, wear resistance, resistance (trample resistance), and scratch resistance, embodying the true functional value and extended utility of the stone.
(2) Wax polishing results in low brightness, blurred luster, poor wear and water resistance, easy scratching, oxidation, and yellowing, which degrades the stone's inherent image.
(1) Polishing with marble/granite grinding blocks is a precursor to stone crystal surface processing or the stone manufacturing process. The main principle is to use pressure and high-speed grinding force to synthesize inorganic acids, metal oxides, and other substances through the frictional heat of grinding blocks. Combined with mechanical grinding on the plate and the action of water, these substances form a physical-chemical bond with the relatively smooth marble/granite surface, creating a new bright crystal layer. The crystal layer achieves ultra-high brightness (90-100 degrees) and is a composite crystal layer (1-2mm thick) modified on the stone surface.
(2) The grinding and polishing process before marble/granite crystal surface treatment is a physical-chemical interaction between the stone surface and chemical substances, integrating the surface and underlying layers of the stone without a separation layer.
(3) The wax layer on a wax-polished marble/granite surface adheres to the stone as a resin film without chemical bonding to the stone itself. This wax film can be peeled off with a blade or spatula.
We continue to focus on the processing and manufacturing of granite mechanical components for more than 10 years, widely used in semiconductor, precision manufacturing, medical equipment, aerospace and other fields, to provide enterprises with high-precision mechanical platforms, equipment bases and gantry structures, for university laboratories, factories, scientific research to provide precision measurement platforms and tools.
We have about 10,000 square meters of standard industrial plant and constant temperature grinding workshop, as well as large cutting machine tools, diamond saw blade cutting machine, CNC drilling machine, gantry carving and milling machine, 6 meters stroke large grinding machine and Japan Mitotoyo measuring tools, with the whole process processing capacity, to provide reliable guarantee for product quality.
